Raise Fund For Healthy Food

This project aims to provide nutritious breakfast meals to 900 rural school children in Volta Region, Ghana. It aims at reducing the children's hunger during the school day. Besides, it will increase attention span, facilitate learning, and obviate the need for children to leave school to find food.

When our Education programs started we noticed a lot of children were struggling to focus and were often lethargic and sleepy during the classes. Upon reviewing and discussions in the community, we discovered that many of the children were living only on one meal a day and were coming to the centers hungry. So our nutrition program was created, where children get a nutritious porridge meal for breakfast when they arrived at the centers and schools. Upon implementation we saw an immediate improvement in the children performance, health and overall wellbeing.

Build School For Poor Children

After seeing the desperate situation of some of the children in the communities we worked in, Sachabu Foundation decided to setup a small center with seven classrooms, a kitchen, latrines, books and desks and a playground, so that children can stay happy and healthy while learning, Sachabu Foundation center will be a place where children who are orphaned, neglected and abused would have a safe learning environment and be provided proper care, nutrition and medical assistance but still be involved in the local community.

Total estimate is at US $50,000. The materials required include bricks, cement, sand, aggregate, steel windows and doors, iron sheets for the roof, rafters, nails, water, paint, desks, office and student furniture, labour costs among others.

Without classrooms, they are forced to study under trees, in all weather. They are exposed to the elements, distracted, and unable to learn. Children were exposed to too much sunshine during teaching hours, since they were held under trees and semi-permanent grass-thatched classrooms without desk and with holes in the roof that let the rain in, leaving children cold and wet, and ruining their work.

Keep Teachers In The Classroom

Teachers play a critical role in advancing quality education, and thus are a crucial ingredient to suitable and inclusive development.For many teachers, education is a passion, a noble calling to have a positive impact on the minds and lives of young people in their community.

Sachabu Foundation is currently conducting a range of activities aimed at empowering teachers with the requisite skills and also supporting and motivating them with incentives. With a donation of $40 you can support a teacher for one month. Sachabu Foundation is supporting teachers in various communities to be as good as they can. Teachers deserve salaries that recognize their unique contribution to the well-being of the children and entire community.

Teachers also face significant challenges such as lack of resources like text books, desk and limited access to basic services such as portable drinking water and toilet facility. For example, most primary schools do not have electricity let alone access to Internet or computers. Teachers are essential to improving children learning, but that they can also be powerful agents of change – whether that means fighting early childhood marriage and teen pregnancy.
